THURSDAY NOTES

I am so excited about Worship on Sunday. We begin the Christmas season with Christmas Carols and the Children's choir musical on Sunday night. December is always one of the best months of the year. It is a time for reflection that Christ was born to save. It is a time for families to renew relationships and for great excitement as we prepare for worship. Porter Chorale is preparing a great night of carols on December 21. I hope you are telling all your friends about this celebration.
Please continue to pray for Rita Walters who had surgery today and is waiting on more results. Also pray for David Keeling who is doing several medical tests this week. Continually lift up Jayne Ellen in prayer for healing and strength for the whole family. Also pray for Candi Combs' mother as she remains in Cardinal Hill for therapy.
Christmas can be very hectic. Don't let all the business steal your joy. I am going to praise the Lord all month long with great music and for a great Savior.

REHEARSAL THIS SATURDAY DECEMBER 6 AT 10:30 am

Tuesday, December 2, 2008

Wednesday Evening at 7:30.

Remember to be present at Choir practice this week. Every week is important as we get closer to December 21 and our Christmas musical. I cannot stress how much we need every choir member to attend the rehearsal on Wed. night. Even if you think you know the music well we really need everyone to be present. It is not the choir unless all are present.

The next extra rehearsal is Saturday December 6 at 10:30 AM. This should really help you to prepare for Christmas.

Also keep you calendar open for Christmas eve service December 24 at 6:00 PM. The Choir needs to be in the choir room by 5:30 PM. Wear Christmas clothes.

Rock af Ages

Thank you Vince and Pam and Lynn for leading us so well in Rock Of Ages. I love that old hymn and the choir arrangement was a blessing. We have so many people that sing so well at Porter. It is amazing to see what God is doing at Porter and using these musicians for His glory. Thank you trio and many others for being so faithful.

Karen Baird did a marvelous job singing the lead worship part to Before the Throne of God Above. Thank you Karen for communicating our hearts as you sang to the Lord.

PMBC Music Prayer Concerns

Please post prayer concerns and answers to prayer for all your Porter Music Friends to see.

Christmas 2008 announcements

Please attend the rehearsal tonight. It goes from 6:30 to 8:30. Thursday November 13 in the choir room. Susan will be working with the Ladies during the first part and I will work with the men.
I am excited about Christmas. I think most of my excitement comes from not believing how close Christmas is and how much music we have to learn in a short time. What a blessing that we have so many excellent musicians to prepare. Start praying now for the Christmas music plans and preparations during the next several weeks. The children and the students and the adults all are doing their own presentations on the first three weeks of December.

Please add these dates to your calendars.

December 7 the children present The Christmas County Spelling Bee
December 14 the students take a young look at Christmas worship
December 21 the adults present the Carols of Christmas.
December 24 the famous annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion.
